About

Okay. If you are here reading this, that means you must be wondering about who is Ryan “Buffet” Lim, and why in the world would I believe a word he is saying! So here’s my elevator pitch to you.

I hate getting ripped off. Ever heard the story where an investment banking manager persuades their customers to place their savings in an investment-linked savings fund? Months later, they find their capital reduced, their “adviser” retired to live on the commissions he earned from his poor clients, and the clients had to live with “no guarantees to investments”? Well, I did not want to be one of those clients. Thus I took matter into my own hands.

I started my passionate crusade to educate myself and anyone else who would listen. It is truly possible to get more information regarding investments and finance in a more concise and readable format without turning into a bean-counter, or a finance geek. Yes, readable finance education materials! Unbelievable, but definitely true!

My quest begun at the library (cos I was too cheap to buy books!). It is from there I began to research about the techniques of the world’s greatest investment exploits of Warren Buffet and Benjamin Graham. From them, I began digesting lots of other related investment books with the same investment strategy and philosophy. It did not take long before I begun accumulating experience through financial simulations and even graduated to using my own money. Not everything worked. So I begun to sliced and diced the information to leave only the important stuff.

So unlike a Vertu phone sales person who probably will never buy the wares they are selling, I put my money where my mouth is. Captured here is my investment journey from “goondoo” to hopeful “guru”. Concisely captured in readable format and neatly categorised for easy reference. Hopefully you too can experience the true joy of financial freedom and stay hungry!

Ps. If you are interested in a Food Guide on 1,000 crappy places to eat, this is not the place! But I can sure name some…
